William "Bill" Paul Riekert,

With grateful and heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of William "Bill" Paul Riekert, a devoted husband, beloved father, cherished grandfather, and faithful servant of Christ. Bill of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025.

Bill was the dearly loved husband of Rita Riekert with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and friends. He was the proud father of Eric A. (Kristen) Riekert and Mark W. (Jenna) Riekert, and adoring grandfather to Samuel (Mallory) Riekert, Kate (Keith) Hansz, Jeb Riekert, Avery Riekert and Ellie Riekert. His great-grandson, due later this month will bear his name. Bill was a loving brother to Louis (Laverne) Riekert and he held close his nephews, John and Paul and niece, Elaine.

Born on September 6, 1936 to William and Frieda Riekert. Bill never struggled to put a smile on the face of anyone, from a loved one to a stranger. He was a wonderful storyteller with an unbelievable ability to remember details and trivia. A graduate of Withrow High School, he loved staying connected, visiting and calling classmates regularly. A proud patriot, he served in the Army in Korea before joining Procter and Gamble, where he retired after 29 years. He was an active member of the Korean War Veterans Association where he forged deep relationships with many other veterans of the conflict.

Bill and Rita built a home filled with faith and love where his rowdy laughter and warm voice will long echo. Bill enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandkids at the farm, gardening, hunting, fishing, riding dirt bikes, tinkering, and collecting. His kids and grandkids will always think of Bill when gummy bears, orange peels, or half dollars are mentioned.

Outside of his family, perhaps his greatest impact came from his involvement in their church, First Christian Assembly of God, now People's Church. Essentially Bill Riekert was "born on a church pew." Bill didn't just attend church - he was the church. He served in various capacities for over 70 years. He built a legacy of love, donating to causes to further the Kingdom and touching individuals in need who crossed his path throughout his life. He did this humbly. Just before his passing his longtime pastor shared with Bill's family that he made contributions to support a retired missionary couple until their death.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Road on Saturday (September 13) from 1pm until time of funeral service at 2:30pm. Graveside service will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 11:00am at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45220.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made at www.stjude.org or www.securegiving.cbn.com .
