CINCINNATI, OH - Tamara Lynne (nee Hoffman) Sparks passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023 at home surrounded by family and friends. Tammy was a devoted mother to James Barnett, Zachary Sparks, and Savannah Sparks, and loving Mimi to her sweet Lilah. Dear sister to Bobby Hoffman, Susan (Don) Murdock, and Elizabeth (Gene) Saylor. Fun-loving "Aunt T" to Jeremy (Sarah) Murdock, Kirstian Saylor, Kyle Murdock, Kevin (Desiree) Best, Emily (Zac) Waddell, Connie (Anthony) Justice, Justin Saylor, Nathan Saylor, and nine great-nieces & nephews. Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley (nee Hess) Blevins. She was 55.

Tammy graduated from Lakota High School in 1986. She was athletic, adventurous, and loved the outdoors. Tammy was known to have a "wild side", and was always having fun. She was passionate about music and the depth of her musical knowledge was not easily rivaled. She could "name that tune" with just one note, but could also name the band, the album and the year it was released! Tammy worked as an aide in a nursing home when she first began her career. She had a gift for helping others and to nurture life. She was married shortly after high school and became a mother in January 1987. Only a few months later in May, Tammy and her son, Jimmy, were in a horrific car accident that left her paralyzed from the chest down. She beat the odds that day, and persevered through many more challenges for over 36 years. Tammy was driven to create a positive future for herself and ultimately her three children. She inspired and amazed everyone who met her. She was funny and outgoing, and always found opportunities to invite others, especially inquisitive children, to see beyond her wheelchair. She learned to drive, and from that moment forward was unstoppable! She loved her regained independence, and did everything within her power to expand her physical capabilities. Defying medical odds and breaking through countless barriers after her accident, Tammy accomplished many "firsts" in the medical community as a paraplegic. Her fascination, knowledge, and love of "all things plants" led her to become a landscape designer for many years. She most loved being a mother, though. Every ounce of fight in her, which exceeded all expectations, was for the love of her children. She was the heroine of her story and a champion in many of ours.

Friends & Family are welcome to a Celebration of Tammy's Life on October 7, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the home of Don & Susan Murdock.
