It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven J. Weiler, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle who left this world on December 20, 2024. Born on September 16, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Steve served as a proud veteran in the United States Army and later made his home in Rising Sun, Indiana, where he lived a life full of love and laughter and was known for his kindness and quick wit.

Family was at the center of Steve's life. He was ever-present at his children's milestones: graduations, baseball and soccer games, and band and choir competitions. His unwavering support created a legacy of love and encouragement that will resonate through generations. A devoted husband to Lee, he worked tirelessly to build their dream home on the land they cherished, creating a warm and loving environment for them to relax and retire together.

Steve was a beloved son of the late Raymond and late Vivian (Flottman) Weiler. A dear husband of Lee Weiler, and a loving father of Scott (Jennifer Klare) Weiler, Matthew (Padraig Johnston) Weiler, and Jennifer Weiler. He was a proud grandfather to Brett (Anna Green) Weiler and Briana (Corbet Shreffler) Weiler, and a caring great-grandfather to Rowan and Yarrow Weiler. He shared a special bond with his brother, Tim (Michelle Bolin) Weiler, and fondly remembered his late sister, Karen McLaughlin and preceded in death by Terry Weiler and Marsha Weiler. His family was his greatest treasure, and he took immense pride in nurturing their dreams and celebrating their successes.

Steve was an avid outdoorsman whose love for nature was evident in his passion for fishing and camping. He spent countless hours at his favorite pond, reeling in bluegill, bass, and catfish, and the occasional stick or snapping turtle. The thrill of watching wildlife in its natural habitat brought him immense joy, whether it was deer grazing in the early morning or turkeys wandering through the brush. He maintained a multitude of bird feeders, inviting an entire flock to feast in his backyard, a testament to his gentle spirit and nurturing nature.

Steve's unwavering passion for sports made him a dedicated fan of Colerain and UC football, following them to state playoffs and bowl games, while weathering the ups and downs of being a Reds and Bengals supporter. He brought a spark of humor into every life he touched, a gift inherited from his father and lovingly passed down to his children and grandchildren. The legacy of laughter and love that Steve leaves behind will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He never wanted to be a bother but was always eager to welcome those he loved into his life, embodying the essence of kindness and generosity.

The family invites all who knew and loved Steve to join them in honoring his memory. A visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home on December 28, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by a funeral service to celebrate his remarkable life.
