In Loving Memory of Steven Southern who peacefully passed away on June 21, 2024, at the age of 68. He was born on October 5, 1955, in Batesville, Ind.  Steve was known for his warm and gentle demeanor, he was a beacon of kindness and gratitude throughout his life as he brought joy to all who knew him with his warm smile and thoughtful nature.

Steven was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend. Throughout his life, Steve was fortunate to be surrounded by loving individuals. He found unwavering companionship in his lifelong partner, Melissa Caywood. Steve was also a beloved member of his extended foster family, including his late mother Loretta Jean Wessel and his late father Richard Wessel, He also fostered deep bonds with his foster sisters the late Judy (Jim) Zoller, Peggy (Terry) Bradford, and brother the late Bill Seaver.

Steve will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Jennifer (the late Chris) Heringer, Greg (Casey)  Zoller, Sarah (Chas)  Spires, and his cherished cousins Kelly, Josslyn, Jacqueline, Louis, Katelynn, Bentley, and Lincoln.

In his professional life, Steve found a second family at Skyline Chili, where he worked for many years. The Lambrinides Family, owners of Skyline Chili, embraced Steve as one of their own, and for their generosity and support, Steve's family will be forever grateful.

In Steve's free time he explored his passion for building car models and spent countless hours perfecting his craft. He found joy in creating intricate and detailed pieces that reflected his meticulous attention to detail and creative spirit.

A grave side service to honor Steven's life will be held at St. James Cemetery, 3565 Hubble Road, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45247 on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. The service will be a celebration of his life and the impact he had on all those who knew him. Please join us in remembering Steve and sharing stories of his kind spirit and joyful presence.

In his memory, may we all strive to carry forward his legacy of compassion, gratitude, and kindness. Steven Souther will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.
