In loving memory of Stephen Henry Riley, a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother, whose journey began on October 15, 1949, in Cincinnati, OH. He was born to Martha T. (nee Rusche) and the late Marvin J. Riley and passed peacefully on December 14, 2024, at the age of 75, surrounded by his beloved family. Stephen, affectionately known as Steve, touched the lives of those around him with his kindness, warmth, and infectious sense of humor. He leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him.

Steve was the cherished husband of 53 years to Denise (nee Sandhas) Riley, with whom he shared a deep connection with as they created a home filled with love and laughter. He was a proud father to Rebecca (Justin) Bass, Robyn (Phil) Parker, and Matthew Riley. He was a doting grandfather to Austin Bass and Riley Bass, whose sporting events brought him immense joy. As the dear brother of Jon (Karen) Riley, Nancy (Jerry) Saalfeld, Eileen (Jim) Maloney, and Peggy Riley, he fostered bonds of love that will endure through cherished memories. Brother-in-law of Bob (Pat) Sandhas, Donna Sandhas, Steve (Debbie) Sandhas and the late Lisa Sandhas. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

A dedicated management professional at Cincinnati Bell, Steve approached life with the same selflessness and care that defined his role as a family man. He found joy in the simple moments, whether it was losing himself in a good book or cheering on his grandkids at their sporting events. His legacy will live on through the countless stories of love and laughter shared by those fortunate enough to have known him.

Funeral services will be held to honor Steve's life, visitation at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1175 Overlook Ave., on Thursday (Dec. 19) from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate his memory, share their stories, and find solace in one another as they remember the remarkable man that Steve was. As we come together to pay tribute to his life, we will carry forward the love and compassion he so generously bestowed upon us all.
