Stefan Dinevski, known and beloved for his wit, tenacity, and endless good will has passed away at age 85. Stefan was one of eight children born to Krstin and Stefanka Dinevski in Nakolec, Macedonia, a small village situated on the serene shores of Lake Prespa.He spent every summer since childhood helping his parents tend to the family's farm work. Though in adulthood he would leave his home for Macedonia's capital city, Skopje, and eventually Macedonia all together for Cincinnati, Ohio, he kept his cherished Nakolec with him in spirit always.In 1963 Stefan met his wife, Draga Dinevska (nee Ivanovska) -perhaps the only person more head strong than him -whom he would spend the rest of his life with. They would have two children together, Tatjana McGuire (nee Dinevska) and Aleksandar Dinevski, and lovingly embraced the additions of Tatjana's husband, Tim, and Aleksandar's wife, Sonja (nee Todorovski). He loved to relay stories of his youth to his grandchildren Elizabeth Dinevski, Tiara McGuire, and Christian Dinevski.

Stefan's gift for language materialized in everything he did. He taught Macedonian language and literature at Mite Bogoevski High School in Resen. Upon moving to Skopje, he worked at Radio Television Skopje as a reporter and a radio skit writer before accepting the position of programming manager, which he maintained until his retirement. Stefan's deep love for poetry led him to write poems of his own about his family, Macedonian history, and love, amongst other subjects.

After moving to the United States in 1998, his life revolved around his family. He spent every summer swimming in the pool with his grandchildren, knew the secret to picking the best watermelon out of the bunch, and how to grill a steak to perfection. Unofficially, he boasted the record for the all-time highest number of hours spent watching Gunsmoke. Every morning he drank his coffee from a mug that boasted I'm a Mom -what's your superpower?

Visitation will be at St. Ilija Macedonian Orthodox Church, 8465 Wuest Rd. on Thursday (July 21) from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, his family kindly requests donations be made to Shriners Children's Hospital , where Stefan was a monthly donor
