Ronald Joseph Wolf,
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald J Wolf on 4/8/2026, twelve days after celebrating his 90th birthday. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Joyce, his four children: Thomas and wife Julia Ahrens, Kathleen, Christine and her husband Carl Jolly, and David and his wife Jennifer. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Vanessa Black and her husband Ryan Black, Claire Jolly, Connie Jolly, and Collette Jolly, Margaret Wolf, Gideon Wolf, and Thistle Wolf; and one great-grandchild Carter, son of Vanessa and Ryan.
Ronald is preceded in death by his brother William "Bill" Wolf (Betty), as well as his sister Lucille Richardville (Curt), and survived by his sister Mary Ann Baehl (Frank d.).
Ron was an avid lifelong bird enthusiast who enjoyed watching and identifying birds, attracting and feeding them, even becoming certified to net and band them. He was active in Audubon in both Minnesota and Kansas, serving on the boards and leading field trips. Ron was deeply committed to environmental causes and devoted many hours to Audubon projects.
Ron worked for US Geological Survey starting in mid 1960's, his work located him from Indianapolis, Indiana to Minnesota, to Lawrence (Kansas) and last three years of work before retirement he worked in Cheyanne, Wyoming.
Ron was also a fan of all thing's trains, but especially his Lionel train cars. His interest peaked with the train lines that traversed his boyhood home of Evansville, IN, and that is reflected in his collection.
Ron was also very tuned in to his family, getting together frequently with his mother and father and siblings. Many wonderful memories come from the gatherings through the years. Ron, you are missed.
Visitation will take place on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 10am-11am at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45239 followed by Military service at St. James Cemetery - White Oak.
