Robert Will Stackhouse, known as 'Will' or Pastor Will, and earlier in life as 'Bob,' was 71 when he left this world for the next. He was born in Marion, SC where he lived during his growing years. He spent many summers on the coast at Murrell's Inlet where he came to love the ocean, boating, water, and especially 'she-crab soup' and other seafood delicacies shared by his family and friends.

He was: Beloved husband of Teri Lynn S. Stackhouse [Forbes], for 11 ½ years, following their marriage on April 24, 2010.

Son of the late Mary B. [Davis] [Clement] Stackhouse and the late Walter C. Clement, and later adopted by his late stepfather "Buddy" Stackhouse.

He was stepdad and father figure to Marc Forbes (22), Linnéa Forbes (22), and Imré Forbes (23), Teri Lynn's children.

Brother to the late Kaye Stackhouse, and brother-in-law to Glenn (Sue) McClintic of San Diego, CA and friend to their children: two nephews, Taylor and Ryan McClintic.

Extended family to the late Wendell and Peggy Snyder, of California.

Son-in-law to the late Jack and late Joan Swartz, of Coronado, CA.

Precious patient of his ongoing Caregiver Gwen McGrady, and many friends, colleagues and acquaintances.

Will was a graduate of Marion High School, Marion, SC. He attended Florence-Darlington College where he earned an associate degree in Drafting. He attended Spartanburg Methodist College, then Coker College, for his Bachelors' degree, majoring in English and Psychology. In 2018 he further earned a Master of Arts in Education from Hamline University, St. Paul, MN.

Will was called into ministry in the Methodist Church and served small rural parishes during the time he attended Emory University's Candler School of Theology, where he graduated and was ordained in 1983, and served churches in Georgia and South Carolina. He joined the Disciples of Christ ministry roster and served churches in Ohio, then dual rostered with the United Church of Christ and served churches in Ohio and California; then in Cincinnati OH where he retired in 2013, returning to the Disciples of Christ retirement roster.

He was an active member of First United Church of Christ, Cincinnati, OH and of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, South Bend, IN following his retirement.

Will loved history, reading, Welsh hymnody, sacred organ and piano music, writing prayers, talking with others, serving in proclamation and reading of scripture, in prayer and leading Compline for St. Mike's. He was an Anglophile, loved to watch old movies and mysteries, to eat good food, preaching and enacting chancel drama of the Bible stories, and to spend time with his family and friends, whom he became closer with during the pandemic. His love, kindness and humor, as well as his faith, are known by many, and he will be missed.
