With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Francis Wiethorn, a dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this life on September 4, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on June 27, 1943, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Robert and late Martha (nee Boeing) Wiethorn. Robert was a vibrant spirit who made an indelible mark on the lives of everyone he met. Robert will be remembered for his kindness, his love of family, and the many ways he shared his time and talents with others. Robert was the devoted husband of Janice (nee Luebbe) Wiethorn for an incredible 59 years, sharing a bond that was a testament to true partnership and love. Together they nurtured a beautiful family, including their cherished children: Jennifer (Jerry) Morick, Susan Wiethorn, and Molly (Eric) Landon, who carry his legacy forward with grace and devotion. He took great pride in his loving grandchildren, Evan and Jack Morick, Andrew and Austin Wiethorn, and Emma and Sarah Landon, whose laughter and successes filled his heart with joy. He is also survived by his siblings: Marylin, John, Gerald, and Denis. A proud graduate of Roger Bacon High School, Robert went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from Xavier University in 1965. His passion for sports played a significant role in his life, fueling his enthusiasm for coaching soccer, basketball, and baseball teams for his children. In 1979, he made a lasting impact on the community by founding the White Oak Soccer League, where he dedicated his time to organizing games, training coaches and referees, and preparing the fields each weekend. His unwavering support for local sports extended to his commitment to Xavier basketball, where he held season tickets for many years, and he relished every opportunity to cheer on local high school football and baseball teams. Watching his children and grandchildren play sports brought him the greatest pride. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Robert's life with visitation at St. Ann Catholic Church, 2900 W. Galbraith Rd., on Saturday (September 12), from 10:30 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Following Mass, family and friends will travel to St. James Cemetery, where Robert will be laid to rest. Robert Francis Wiethorn will be remembered as a loving family man and a passionate advocate for youth athletics. His spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed.
