Robert L. Clippard beloved husband of 49 years to the late Joanne K. (nee Murray) Clippard. Devoted father of Julie Clippard, Robert S. (Heidi) Clippard, Deborah (Robert) Ray, Jennifer (Miles) Caunin and Kristin Clippard. Loving grandfather of Cali Clippard, Teegan Clippard, Alexander Clippard, Robert A. Caunin and Samuel E. Ray. Dear brother of the late Oscar S. (Carol) Clippard, Patricia Dudsic and William L. (Anne) Clippard III. Robert was a warm, caring, goofy, devoted, and loving Christian who always had a joke or funny story to share with others.  Most people knew him as Bob. He was deeply devoted to his family, community, philanthropy, and the family business as a second-generation businessman alongside his siblings, Buck, Pat, and Bill. He cared greatly for the people he met, worked with, and served with at Clippard Instrument Laboratory.  As an Executive Vice President, he retired from Clippard after 46 years of leadership and served as a Board Director until the fall of 2022.  He was tenacious in preserving the legacy of his father, Leonard.  Bob actively gave back to the community through volunteerism in Colerain Township.  He was inducted into the Colerain Chamber's Hall of Fame in 2017 for his years of service and dedication to helping others in the community. As a philanthropist, he supported many causes and organizations, such as the Capital Building and Annual Support Campaigns of the YMCA, White Oak Christian Church, The Colerain Sub Station for Community resources, Ronald McDonald House, City Gospel Mission, the Humane Society, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the Kidney Society to name a few. Bob had a zest for life and enjoyed many pastimes that included traveling, reading, writing short poems, photography, swimming, scuba diving, flying and aviation, learning about historical events and figures, tinkering in his shop, and working in the yard on his John Deere tractors. Bob was married to his high school sweetheart, Joanne K. Clippard (Murray) (Woodrow Wilson High, class of 1963).  Together, they raised a big family, four daughters, and one son. They had a strong bond and devotion to each other throughout their 47-year marriage. He cared for her until her passing in August of 2016 from cancer. He enjoyed his remaining years with his five children and five grandchildren. His family celebrates and remembers him for his wisdom; preparedness; love of the outdoors and nature; his love of animals, particularly five beloved Newfoundland dogs; his extreme generosity in helping others; his pioneer spirit and survival skills; his unshakable faith in God and devotion to his family; and especially his unique style of humor.  They plan to honor him and their mom's memory by continuing their philanthropy in supporting the local community through the Robert L. and Joanne K. Clippard Charitable Trust. Robert peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2023, at the age of 77. Visitation at White Oak Christian Church, 3675 Blue Rock Rd., on Thursday (April 27) from 10am until time of funeral service at 12pm.
