Richard Clarence Smith, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 25, 1935, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Edward C. Smith and late Evadeane M. (nee Rhoades) Siebein. Richard was a proud and hardworking man throughout his life.

Richard's dedication to his work as a self-employed truck driver was commendable, a true reflection of his resolute character and strong work ethic. His commitment to providing for his family demonstrated his unwavering love and devotion to them. Richard also proudly served in the Army, exemplifying his courage and patriotism.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Richard found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for farming, working on his truck, and taking leisurely walks in the beauty of nature. However, his greatest happiness came from spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren at their sporting events. Richard was the beloved husband of 66 years to Marlene M. (nee Hauck) Smith. Devoted father of Sandy (Henry) Mollmann, Rick Smith, Pam (Bob) Craft and Kim (Jason) Sizemore. Loving grandfather of Ray (Crystal) Buxsel II, Caitlin Craft and Carissa Craft. Step grandfather of Joe Mollmann, Jen Schmidt and Jessica Bain. Great grandfather of Sarah Buxsel, Olivia Buxsel, Zoe Buxsel and Camden Buxsel. Dear brother of Betty Pitser and the late Edna Smith and late Leroy Smith.

Richard's selflessness and kindness endeared him to all who knew him. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, embodying the true spirit of generosity and compassion. His warm presence and infectious smile will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the community he touched.

A private Graveside Service to honor and celebrate Richard's life will take place at the convenience of the family. This ceremony will serve as a poignant tribute to a man who lived a life filled with love, dedication, and cherished memories.
