In loving memory of Raymond J. Schnur, who was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. Born May 09, 1926 in Cincinnati, OH Ray was the cherished son of the late Albert and Elsie Schnur. Ray peacefully passed away April 6, 2026 at the age of 99. He was a bright light with a good sense of humor and will be missed dearly.

Ray is now reunited in heaven with his late wife Audrey M. (nee Stricker) Schnur. They were married 75 years and built a loving and nurturing home for their children, Linda (Don) Weigand, Jim (Sharon), Jerry (Beth) and Tom (Patti) Schnur. He was a loving and proud grandfather to Keith (Emily) Weigand, Ryan (Katie) Weigand, Angela (Bryan) Hawkins, Christopher Schnur, Katie (Brandon) Musgrove, Traci (Andy) Ahlert, Nick (Melissa) Schnur, Jeremy Schnur and Jenna (Coltyn) Keairns. Great grandfather to 20 grandchildren. Dear brother of Paul and Nancy Schnur and the late Al and late Dolores Schnur and brother-in-law to the late Melvin and late Helen Stricker and late LaVerne and late Bob Trame. Ray will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family, and his memory will live on through stories filled with love and laughter.

Ray's early years were marked by hardship and sacrifice. He left high school in order to support his family when his father fell ill, a testament to his unwavering sense of responsibility and love. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served honorably as a Seaman First Class. His time in the Navy fostered a lasting sense of camaraderie and brotherhood, principles he held close throughout his life. Ray recently was surprised with an honorary high school diploma from Roger Bacon High School.

In his professional life, Ray was a skilled lithographer in the printing industry, where he left an indelible mark through his work and the relationships he formed. However, it was not just in his career that Ray excelled; he thrived in the game of life, enjoying many pastimes that brought him joy. Ray was an avid sports enthusiast, passionately supporting Cincinnati's local teams, and cherished the moments spent at horse racing tracks like River Downs and Keeneland. His love for competition extended to a round of golf on the course and lanes of bowling, where he delighted in bringing home roses for his beloved wife whenever he emerged victorious.

A devoted family man, Ray found his greatest joy in the company of his loved ones. He treasured the time spent with his children and his grandchildren, creating a legacy of love and laughter that will forever resonate in their hearts. His passion for card games, especially pinochle, brought friends and family together, creating cherished memories that will live on in the stories shared.

In honor of Ray a visitation will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1830 W Galbraith Rd, North College Hill, OH on Monday, April 20 from 9:30am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the remarkable life Ray led, in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Crossroads Hospice , 4380 Glendale Milford Road, 45242 or charity of your choice.
