Rafaela Guiab Olanda, 91, of Cincinnati, Ohio, peacefully entered eternal life on 09/19/2026, surrounded by her loving family.Born November 18, 1934, in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, to Pascual and Agapita Guiab, Rafaela came to the United States as a young woman to further her education and graduated in pharmacy. She married, started a family, and moved to the Philippines, and later joined her husband in Nigeria with their children while working and caring for her family. When her oldest sons returned to the U.S. for school, the family followed. A devout Catholic who practiced her faith daily, she loved traveling, cooking, gardening, and reading.Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Eliseo A. Olanda, she is survived by her five children and their spouses: Rafael and Grace Olanda; Daniel and Lillibeth Olanda; Elisea Olanda and Gregory Hiller; Rosemarie Olanda Espinoza; and James and Rowena Olanda. She also leaves eight grandchildren: Asiana, Samantha, Justin, Nenita, Walter, Vince, Jarod, and Rowen James "RJ," as well as her younger brother, Jesus Guiab, and his wife, Remedios.Visitation at St. Ann Church, 2900 W. Galbraith Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45239, on Friday, September 25, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.Rafaela lived 91 years with courage, faith, and an abiding love for her family.
