Paul Christopher Rapien, a shining beacon of love, laughter, and kindness, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the age of 87. He was born on October 9, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Bernard and late Marie (nee Pulskamp) Rapien. Paul lived a life filled with purpose and devotion, deeply rooted in family and faith.

Paul was a steadfast man of patience and warmth, known for his generous spirit and infectious cheerfulness. He had a great sense of humor that brought laughter to those around him and a friendly demeanor that fostered friendships wherever he went. His love for family was paramount, and he devoted himself to spending quality time with his beloved wife of 64 years, Ann L. (nee Hirschberg) Rapien, and their children: Roseann (Octavian) Popa, Paul B. (Jeff Bruegman) Rapien, Carolyn (David) MacNeel, and Maria (Eric) Rufe. Paul was a proud grandfather to Andrea (fiancé Jordan Moon) Popa, Michael Popa, Jack (Elizabeth) MacNeel, Margaret MacNeel, and Eliot Rufe, cherishing every moment he spent with them. Paul was preceded in death by his dear brother Bernard (Mary Lynne) Rapien.

After graduating from Roger Bacon High School in 1956, Paul pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and completed his education with an MBA from Xavier University. His professional journey as an engineer at Cincinnati Incorporated was marked by a commitment to excellence and innovation. Paul also served his country proudly as an Officer in the United States Army, a testament to his unwavering sense of duty.

Paul's heart also found solace in music, as he actively participated in the choir at St. James Church in White Oak. From playing in the band "Key Notes" to his love of gardening, tennis, and golf, he embraced life's joys wholeheartedly. A keen bird enthusiast and avid reader, he found pleasure in mystery novels, puzzles, and volunteering for Meals on Wheels, leaving a positive impact on those he encountered. Yet, Paul's greatest joy came from spending time with his family and grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

As we gather to celebrate the rich and joyful life Paul lived, we invite friends and family to join us for a Memorial Mass at St. Ann Church on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:30 AM, preceded by a visitation starting at 9:30 AM.
