He was the beloved son of the late Paul Francis Schlesinger and the late Catherine Johanna Schlesinger. Paul peacefully passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving behind a legacy of loyalty, kindness, and wit that will be cherished by all who knew him. Paul was the beloved husband of Kathleen "Kathy" (nee Kunz) Schlesinger, sharing 65 wonderful years of love and companionship. Together, they crafted a life rich with memories and laughter. As the proud father of Elaine (Steve) Cogan, John (Jason Jackson) Schlesinger, and Eric (Vika) Schlesinger, Paul cherished the bond he shared with his family. He delighted in being a grandfather to Rachel (Brendan) Page, Jamie Cogan, Drew (Taylor) Cogan, Joel Cogan, Scott (Rian Espinal-Hoskins) Cogan, and Nina Schlesinger, and he was a caring great-grandfather to Solenne and Gwen. An animal lover, he found joy in the company of his beloved cat, Bear Bear. Paul will hold a special place in the hearts of his family, with his legacy living on through the cherished stories they will continue to share. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Paul exemplified discipline and dedication throughout his life. His military service instilled in him a sense of order and punctuality that was evident in everything he did. He was known for his intelligence, loyalty, and the ability to find pleasure in life's simple joys. Whether it was playing cards, golfing, cheering for the Cincinnati Bengals, traveling with Kathleen and his family and house boating, Paul cherished each moment spent with his family and friends. The love he showed to his children and grandchildren, attending their activities and celebrating their achievements, will always be remembered. In celebration of Paul's life, funeral services will be private, allowing family and close friends to gather for a time of prayer, reflection, and joyful remembrances of his journey through life. They will share stories and laughter that embody the spirit of a remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Boniface Church, located at 1750 Chase Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45223, in honor of his love for community and faith. Paul John Schlesinger will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family.
