In Loving Memory of Mike McKinney

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mike McKinney, a cherished son, brother, and friend. Mike's journey on this Earth began on January 7, 1976, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Tragically, he departed from our midst on February 5, 2024, leaving behind a void that can never be filled.

He shared a special bond with his mother, Debbie and his beloved grandmother, Lorine. Family meant everything to Mike, and his dedication to his loved ones was evident in every aspect of his life.

Beloved son of Debbie (Will) Redmon. Life partner of Bryan Neal. Brother of the late Christopher, Nicholas (Dee) and Brandon. Uncle of Sam, Angel, Kyle, Brandy, Adalyn, JT and Hayden. Nephew of Marvin "Rocky" Sparks and Darlene Durban. Grandson of Lorine Helton, late Marvin Sparks, late Janice and late Floyd "Pete" Redmon.

From his earliest years, Mike was drawn to the scenic beauty and tranquility of Norris Lake. The gentle waves and the thrill of boating held a special place in his heart, providing him with an escape and an opportunity to connect with nature. The love he held for the lake continued throughout his lifetime, serving as a constant reminder of the serenity he cherished.

Among his many passions, Mike had an undeniable love for the Christmas season. The glittering lights, the joyous carols, and the spirit of giving brought him immense happiness. He embraced the holiday with open arms, spreading cheer and creating lasting memories with his family and friends.

Though Mike did not have children of his own, he found joy and companionship in the presence of his two beloved cats. They brought him comfort and provided him with a precious sense of family and unconditional love.

As an office manager, he displayed exemplary dedication and professionalism. Known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment, he was respected by colleagues and admired for his attention to detail and organizational skills. He held himself to the highest standards and approached his tasks with integrity and passion.

His contagious laughter and warm smile lit up every room he entered. He possessed a genuine, selfless nature, and his willingness to go above and beyond for his family and friends knew no bounds. Whether it was lending a helping hand or providing a shoulder to lean on, Mike's presence brought comfort and solace to those around him.

In celebrating the life of Mike's McKinney, let us remember his unwavering love for family, his zest for life, and his immeasurable kindness. We know that he would want us to honor his memory by embracing the joy and beauty of life, just as he did during his time with us.

Mike's visitation will be held on Thursday (February 8) from 6-8pm at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Road, where funeral service will take place on Friday (February 9) at 10am. Friends and family are invited to come together to pay their respects, share their memories, and find solace in each other's company.

In this dark hour, let us cling to the light that Michael brought into our lives. May his soul find eternal peace, and may we find strength in the precious memories he leaves behind.
