It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Lou Roll, who was born on August 8, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and peacefully departed this life on December 29, 2024, at the age of 83. Surrounded by her loving family, Mary leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.

Mary was the cherished wife of the late Martin H. Roll, and she embraced her role as a mother and grandmother with unwavering devotion. She is survived by her beloved children, Michelle (late Joe) Devlin and Marty Roll, and her cherished grandchildren, Chelsea Devlin, Jeremy Devlin, Michaela Devlin, Conner Roll, and Kailee Roll. Mary's heart overflowed with joy as she became a great-grandmother to Kennedy Morton and Cian O'Riordan. Preceded in death by her dear brothers, Art Merkl and Clarence Merkl, Mary is remembered not only as a devoted family member but also as a vibrant soul who brought joy and warmth into the lives of those around her.

A devoted homemaker, Mary found joy in sewing, crafting, and often indulged in a spirited game of bingo. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel extensively; annual family vacations were treasured moments for her, exploring destinations all across the United States. A passionate supporter of her hometown teams, the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bengals, celebrating their victories with contagious spirit Mary radiated warmth and positivity throughout her life.

Mary was a devout member of St. James Church in White Oak, where her faith served as a foundation for her nurturing spirit. Mary's bright light and nurturing nature touched countless lives. She will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A visitation will take place at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Rd.  on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will follow at St. James Church, 3565 Hubble Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45247 at 11:00 AM, where family and friends will gather to honor her life and legacy. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to Hospice of Cincinnati , located at 4360 Cooper Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242, in recognition of the compassionate care they provide.
