In loving memory of Mary Ann Mauntel, who was born on January 18, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was the cherished daughter of the late Alvin and Lillian Piller. Mary Ann peacefully passed away on July 7, 2025, at the age of 87, surrounded by her loving family. She was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her and will be profoundly missed.

In her lifetime, Mary Ann valued her family above all else. She was a devoted wife, nurturing mother, and a loving grandmother who found joy in caring for others. Mary Ann was the devoted wife of Frank Mauntel, with whom she shared an incredible 65 years of love and marriage. Their love story began in grade school, blossoming into a deep bond that lasted through the years as high school sweethearts. Together, they created a nurturing and loving home for their children: Marsha Bowen, Robert (Kim) Mauntel, Joe (the late Linda) Mauntel, and Donny (the late Rose) Mauntel. She took immense pride in being a loving grandmother to Josh (Becky) Bowen, Chris Bowen, Rick Bowen, Evan Mauntel, Tara Mauntel, Kristen Mauntel, Jenette Mauntel, Donny Mauntel, and Mary Ann Mauntel, and a caring great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren. Mary Ann is predeceased by her siblings: Margie (Clyde) Piller, Ray "Bud" (Rosemary) Piller, Alvin (Patricia) Piller, and Joe Piller. She leaves behind a legacy of love, memories, and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold her in their hearts.

Mary Ann led a life characterized by unwavering faith and commitment to her family and community. A parishioner of St. Ignatius Church, she found solace and community through her faith as her deep-seated devotion guided her life. Her commitment to service will forever mirror her values of love, compassion, and community in all who knew her.

Professionally, Mary Ann dedicated many years to 5/3 Bank, where she shone brightly as a bank teller and manager, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and customers alike. Her work ethic and kindness left a lasting impact on those she encountered.

Mary Ann also had a passion for sewing and gardening, finding joy in the delicate art of creating and nurturing beauty. Her garden was a sanctuary, where vibrant roses, irises, and orchids flourished under her care, reflecting her nurturing spirit. Each bloom symbolized her love, patience, and dedication not only to her hobby but to the people she loved.

In honor of Mary Ann's life, a visitation will be held at St. Ignatius Church, 5222 N Bend Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45247 on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 10:30 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 AM.
