Mary Grace (nee Mason) Coddington was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born on November 25, 1924, she lived a full and vibrant 100 years before her passing on July 19, 2025. Mary Grace was a devoted wife to the late James P. for 67 years. She was the proud mother of James M. (the late Sandy) Coddington, Patricia (Joe) Kelly, Michael (Georgia) Coddington, and John (Deana) Coddington, and a loving grandmother of Todd and Sean Clements, Emily (Steven) Schwartz, Rachel (Scott) Margeson, Erin Coddington, Patrick and Caroline Coddington, and the late Laura Coddington and the late Ethan Coddington. She found great joy in her great-grandchildren Evelyn and Owen Margeson.

Mary Grace was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, the ninth of 11 children, to parents Thomas and Grace Mason, and was preceded in death by brothers Thomas, Charles, Eugene, Robert, Raymond, and John; and sisters Helen, Marcella, Shirley, and LaVerne.

Mary Grace was a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy High School. She met and married Jim, and after raising their four children, she worked for Procter & Gamble in their Foods Division for 15 years. She joined Toast Masters and became the leader of her group. She was very active at St. Margaret Mary Church, serving on the Archdiocese Pastoral Council, Bereavement Committee, Marriage Ministry, Mission Commissions, and Women's Society. She also served as Lector and Eucharistic Lay Minister. At St. Margaret Mary School, Mary Grace was an active volunteer in the preschool program and the PTA, and served as a Girl Scout Leader. She also volunteered at Clovernook Center for the Blind, and The Council on Child Abuse, where she was named the Outstanding Prevention Volunteer and recognized by the Ohio House of Representatives.

In her spare time, Mary Grace was an accomplished seamstress, cook, and homemaker. She made many of her own clothes, as well as for her family, and never hesitated to help friends and neighbors with alterations. She was a skilled chef, finding pleasure in preparing healthy, tasteful meals for her family. Mary Grace was also an adept bridge player, challenging opponents at the game well into her 90s.

Mary Grace moved into Llanfair after the death of her beloved Jim, and continued her life of serving others by driving the "old folks" to appointments. There she met her dear friend, the late Lawrence Austing, and they enjoyed dinners with their families and watching the Reds on TV.

As she gave of herself in life, so she did in death, donating her body to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

A gathering will take place at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1830 W. Galbraith Rd., on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until time of her memorial mass at 10:30 a.m.
