Margaret (Peggy) Guilfoyle (nee: Donovan) 89, Morgantown, WV; Cincinnati, OH born August 3, 1932, died November 16, 2021

Died peacefully at home (with two of her daughters).

Peggy was born in Lexington, KY and preceded in death by Michael Matthew Guilfoyle, her husband of 42 years, her parents, John Luke and Roxana (White) Donovan, siblings Charles, Catherine (Sr. Mary Austin) Jack, Patricia, and James Donovan.

She was the loving mother of five: Marcey (Tom) Neumann, Maria Colleen (Steve) Wietmarschen, Michaela/Mickey (Jim) Dacey, Mary Theresa (Martin), and Michael Joseph Guilfoyle (Tami); Grandmother to Brad (Mandy) Neumann, Amy (Terry) Nicholas, Peter, Mitchell, Kevin (Nichole) Dacey, Donovan, Cecilia and great grandmother to Caroline, Charlotte, Benjamin, and Elliot.

She attended Lexington Catholic High School and was a pharmacy technician before attending St. Joseph Nursing School in Lexington, KY. Early in her nursing career, she assisted with flood relief efforts, closed down the first polio unit, and continued nursing care for her patients including surgery and geriatric care on Cincinnati's East Side.

She was a long-time parishioner and choir member of St. Cecilia Catholic Parish - Oakley, and later a member of St. Bartholomew in Finneytown. She found joy by helping in simple ways like selling CampFire candy or Market Day fundraising for Catholic school groups, recycling, folding church bulletins, volunteering at the homeless shelter, or helping in the school cafeteria. Her Catholic Faith was strong, and she lived it diligently. She enjoyed Bishop Fulton Sheen & Mother Angelica, and her faith was supported by the daily devotionals on EWTN. She loved her Guardian Angel.

In the 1980s, she donated her kidney to her brother, Jack. She had endured five cesarean sections and was a two-time survivor of breast cancer. Her steadfast demeanor modeled the concept of 'offering it up' by placing her trust in God. Mom didn't complain, she carried on.
