Louis C. Knolle, beloved husband of 70 years to the late Lois Jean (Sparks) Knolle. Devoted father of Chris (Jack) Phelps, late Theresa (Tom) Cundy, Lou A. (Jody) Knolle, Bruce (Carrie) Knolle. Loving grandfather of Matt, Brian and Adam (Kara) Phelps; Jaime (Jake) Berghaus, Louie W. (Dorri), Andy (Fran Newberry) Knolle; Bruce Jr. and Lauren Knolle; Joe Cundy and Hannah (Payten) Thompson. Dear Great-Grandfather of Noah (mother Colleen), Harper, Paxton, and Olive Phelps; Louis R. (Rory) Knolle; and Corrina Berghaus. Cherished son of the late Louis and Christina (Friedmann) Knolle. Brother of late Martha Knolle and Cleopha Boland. Uncle to many loving nieces and nephews. Louis passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, age 93. Lou was dedicated to his family, friends, and colleagues. He was a man of faith and integrity who worked hard and exemplified all that a father and grandfather can be. He enjoyed watching sports, especially football, basketball and his grandchildren's teams; a competitive game of euchre; a day at the track with Danny and Jack; and Hudy Delight. His 40+year career in the soft drink industry with Union Bottling Works and Pepsi Cola included sales, management, and government relations. Coke was not allowed in his presence. He cherished his longtime friends from Northside, St. Boniface, Roger Bacon High School, and Balfour Lane; and loved organizing countless reunions of the St. Boniface 8th grade class of 1944, the Roger Bacon class of 1948, and grilling at the annual Roger Bacon stags. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will take place from 9:00am - 10:30am on Wednesday, December 27 at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Rd. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1830 W. Galbraith Rd. at 11:00 am.
