Loni Ray Bothwell passed away at Hospice of Cincinnati on September 11, 2023, after a lengthy battle with chronic kidney failure.
Loni graduated from Princeton High School in Sharonville, Ohio in 1963 and loved to tell everyone that she opened Tri- County Mall. She held several jobs in her early career, most notably at Hixson Architects and Engineers where she did interior design work.
Loni never met a stranger and would start a conversation with anyone who looked like they needed a friend.  She loved to help others and other than her family, was most proud of her volunteer work at both Make a Wish in Florida and The Guardian Ad Litem program in Hendersonville, NC.  She was an avid reader, loved to travel in her beloved 2003 Saab and begged everyone to let her ride in their convertible.
Her favorite thing to do for everyone else was to cook and cook she did.  She could put on the most amazing dinner parties and loved to entertain.  She was famous in her circle of friends for extravagant meals and fun parties.  If it was near the holidays and you came to a party, you had a beautifully wrapped gift with your name on it.  She loved shopping for others.  She lit up the room with her smile, loved her family and friends with all her heart and could make you smile with her quick wit and kind soul.  While no one can remember why, she loved Ohio State football and the Pittsburgh Steelers, just because of the color of their uniforms.  Loni's final days were surrounded by family who never left her side.  One of the last things she said was that when she got to heaven, she was going to get a new nose because this one was "cockeyed".  Her humor kept her family smiling until the very end.
Married to Ralph King (deceased) for 10 years, Harry Bothwell (deceased) for 28 years, and Tony Estes (divorced) for 7 years. She leaves behind her three children and their families: Cynthia (Tom) Hines, Ralph (Ellie) King Jr. and Stephani (Brad) Tucker as well as grandchildren, Brandi (Mike) Stubblefield, Ross (Krystal) Clark, Trey King, Zachary King, Patrick Tucker, Seamus Tucker, and Addison Tucker. She also leaves behind a bonus son, John (Betty) Bothwell and bonus grandchildren, Adam Bothwell, Jacob Bothwell, and  Laura (Zach) Obrecht. She also leaves behind 4 great grandchildren, Eliza and Scout Stubblefield and Riley and Ripley Clark.
A celebration of life will take place at Frederick Funeral Home Family Center, 2553 Banning Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45239 on November 11th from 1pm-3pm. A service will also be held in her beloved Hendersonville, NC on November 18th at St. James Episcopal Church 766 N. Main Street, Hendersonville, NC 1pm-4pm.
