In loving memory of Lawrence Edwin Jenkins, who was born February 19, 1944 and was the cherished son of the late Leland Thomas Jenkins and Catherine (nee Yocke) Jenkins. Larry passed away on July 13, 2026, at the age of 82, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Larry will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know him

Larry cherished his role as a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 39 years, Vicki (nee Uhrig) Jenkins. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories. As a loving father, he took great pride in his children: Erin (Chris) Janiak, Chris (Angie) Jenkins, Kelley (Clay) Patten, Kara (Scott) Ervin, Amy Kish, and Bette Tergerson. Larry experienced the joy of being a proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was also a dear brother to Luanne (Roy) Richardson and Kathy (Dan) Rotherham. Larry will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family, and his memory will live on through stories filled with love and laughter.

A graduate of St. Vincent High School, Larry served as captain of the band, showcasing his leadership and love for music. His dedication to service extended to his time with the Army Honor Guard, known as the 'Old Guard,' in Fort Myer, Virginia, where he proudly marched in parades and attended significant events, including the inauguration of Lyndon B. Johnson.

Larry's professional journey took him to P&G, where he dedicated years of hard work before retiring in 1999. His role there afforded him the opportunity to travel extensively, a passion he cherished. Beyond his work, Larry devoted 20 years as an usher at St. Gabriel Church, where his commitment to perfection was evident in everything he undertook, even in the simplest of tasks like mowing the grass. His love for trips, especially to the New England states, was part of what made him the devoted family man he was.

In honor of Lawrence's remarkable life and the legacy he leaves behind, a visitation will take place at St. Gabriel Church, located at 48 W Sharon Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45246, on July 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather together in prayer and reflection, sharing the stories and laughter that defined Larry's remarkable journey.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Vincent-St. Mary Alumni Association or the St. Vincent-St. Mary High School Band , both located at 15 N. Maple St, Akron, OH 44303. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Rashid Khan and Dr. A. Daniel Glassman for the loving care they provided to Larry throughout the years. Their kindness meant the world to him and his family.

As we gather to remember and celebrate Larry, let us carry forward the love he so generously shared, and may his spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
