Lauren Kotte - Nurumbi, cherished daughter of Michael and Adele Kotte and life partner to Thierry Nurumbi. She was a beloved sister to Jennifer (Mitch) Valero, Christopher (Holly) Kotte, and David (Carrie) Kotte. Lauren was a loving aunt to Michael Kotte, Joseph Kotte, Nicholas Kotte, Josh Piela, Natalie Piela, Alan James Piela, Santiago Valero, Evan Valero, Ella Valero, Mariah Maize, Gia Maize, Nova Mae Kotte, and Morgan Kotte. She was also a caring dog owner to her German Shepherd named Bacon. Lauren is survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Lauren was not only a beloved wife, daughter, sister, and aunt but also a dedicated healthcare professional. Her unwavering passion for helping others led her to pursue a career as a traveling respiratory therapist. She provided care and comfort to countless families in their times of need, working tirelessly even during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her commitment to her profession was evident through her selfless acts and tireless efforts.

Lauren's compassion extended beyond borders when she traveled to Honduras, where she selflessly contributed to delivering crucial medical supplies to those in need. Her dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of others left an indelible mark on those she encountered throughout her journey.

Outside of her profession, Lauren had a zest for life and a love for adventure. Known for her unwavering dedication to her favorite football team, the Cincinnati Bengals, Lauren traveled to Kansas City to witness their triumphant victory over the Chiefs. Her passion for sports continued as she ventured to New York to cheer on her favorite tennis players at the US Open.

Lauren's love for travel and exploration took her to many cherished destinations, including the shores of the Gulf Coast. However, her heart always found solace and joy in the enchanting beauty of Connecticut. She reveled in the moments spent with her family, cherishing the precious time she shared with her beloved nieces and nephews.

Let us remember Lauren for the love, joy, and positivity she brought into the lives of those around her. She will be dearly missed by all her relatives, friends, and colleagues whose lives she touched with her kindness, humor, and unwavering spirit. Lauren passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, at the age of 44. Visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Rd. on Friday (January 26) from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SPCA , 11900 Conrey Rd.
