In loving memory of Kathleen (nee Prendergast) Froehle, who peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 10:48am, fortified by the sacraments of the Catholic Church. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 18, 1940, Kathy is the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (nee Moylan) Prendergast. On August 10, 1963, she married Andrew "Bud" Froehle, with whom she was married for 50 years until his passing on June 26, 2014. She is the proud mother of Bryan (Margaret) Froehle and Todd (Kimberly) Froehle, grandmother to Thomas (Mengjuan) Froehle, and great-grandmother to Langston, whose baptism she attended in Chicago on May 21, 2017. She is the sister of Carroll (Ed) Mousa. Kathy cared for many extended family members in their old age and modelled a sense of duty and responsibility throughout her life. Her passion for homemaking was very important to her. As real estate agent for family-owned Merit Realtors, Kathy enjoyed making it possible for young couples to purchase their first home and working with builders, whether on a custom home or a whole new subdivision. She was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds and enjoyed watching as many games as she could. In later life, she looked back with particular pride to her father who was born to an Irish immigrant family. He helped found St. Thomas More Parish in Withamsville and served as president of the union for the LeBlond Machine Tool Company for decades.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Etha Wheeler and the compassionate staff at Mercy Hospital West for their diligent care, to beloved neighbors DuWayne and Myra Kapelis, and to Carol Burns for her kindness in regularly bringing holy communion to Kathy after she became housebound in June 2017. They likewise extend their gratitude to all friends and family who cared for her and shared their love over the years. May she rest in peace and rise in glory!

Visitation will take place on Monday, June 9, 2025, 11am, at St. Ignatius Church, 5222 North Bend Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45247, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm and a brief service at St. James Parish Cemetery immediately afterward. For those who cannot attend Kathy's funeral mass in person, please attend via live stream at sainti.org then click on church.
