It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Kathleen "Kathy" A. Leist, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Kathy's remarkable journey began in Lima, OH, on August 26, 1952. Throughout her 71 years of life, she fervently embodied love, compassion, and dedication to both her family and her esteemed career.

Kathy, a dedicated educator with a Master's Degree, shared her passion for learning and teaching throughout her forty-year career in the Hamilton City School District. She was an English and French teacher before becoming an elementary school principal at Adams Elementary School in the Hamilton City School District, the Hamilton City School District Curriculum Director, and finally the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources at Hamilton City School District. Kathy's impactful presence touched the lives of countless students, colleagues, and mentees, leaving an indelible mark on the educational community.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kathy's greatest joy came from spending cherished moments with her family. She adored her husband Randy and cherished her roles as a mother to Maureen (Adam) Lane and Pamela (Justin) Leist-Bramlage , and as a grandmother to Noah and Nicholas Lane, Patrick and Meghan Bramlage. Dear sister of Richard (Dick) Hoffman. Kathy's warm and nurturing spirit enriched the lives of all those around her, and her love knew no bounds.

Throughout her retirement, Kathy immersed herself in the pleasures of traveling, relishing in adventures with her grandchildren, and engaging in intellectual pursuits like reading and facilitating a book club. She also dedicated her time to volunteer work at a local elementary school, embodying her lifelong commitment to education and enrichment.

As we mourn the loss of Kathy, we are comforted by the memories she leaves behind. A celebration of Kathy's remarkable life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor her enduring legacy.
