John W. Kidwell, beloved son of the late Cecil and Florence (nee Girand) Kidwell. Friend of Louis D. Woycke. He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. John was a devoted banker, nature enthusiast, and beloved member of the community, He was cherished by his family, friends, and colleagues for his compassion, loyalty, and love for nature.

John was born on August 6, 1935, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he earned his High School Diploma from Withrow High School and gained a deep knowledge and passion for botany. This passion continued as he continued to collect many plants over the years, frequently running out of space for them.

After earning his High School Diploma, John embarked on a successful career in banking, serving as a dedicated employee at Provident Bank. His commitment to his work and his exceptional skills as a banker earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Creating lasting relationships that extended beyond the workplace.

Outside of his professional life, he was a dedicated member of St. Anthony Friary and Shrine, where he found solace, peace, and a strong sense of community. John embraced the teachings of his faith and actively participated in various church activities. John was an active member of the church, devoting his time and energy for 20 years, as he selflessly served as an usher, greeting worshippers, and assisting in the smooth running of the services.

Although John was a quiet and simple man, he had a deep love for animals. He had many dogs such as Poodles and Dobermans. He also had a cat named Terra which means (earth) in Latin, who was shy at first but became more social, even becoming a terror at times. John would also help take care of the animals on his grandfather's farm tending to the horses, pigs, and chickens. The peace of nature and the bond he formed with the animals brought him immense joy throughout his life.

Although John enjoyed the simple things in life, he had a zest for adventure and exploration. A passionate traveler, he would eagerly anticipate his annual trip to Florida with his friend Louis, enjoying the warm sunshine and sandy beaches. One of the highlights of their lives was there journey to Ireland in 2014, where they embraced the rich culture, going to Jameson Brewery and the O' Connel restaurant. They also enjoyed the picturesque landscapes, seeing the sheep farms and kissing the Blarney Stone. John and Louis also cherished the memories of their Pilgrim trip to Italy and Rome, where they stayed in the Franciscan House, Casa Papa Giovanni of Assis. During their journey, they had the privilege of visiting Vatican City, catching a glimpse of Pope Francis as he drove by and explored the Catacombs. While on there pilgrim trips,  John and Louis made long lasting friends that they have kept in touch with throughout the years, which truly made a profound impact on them.

John will forever be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering faith. John passed away peacefully February 7, 2024, age 88.
