John M. Gleason, beloved husband of the late Elaine Rose (nee Stath) Gleason. Devoted father of John (Kathy) Gleason and Cindy (Michael) Kelley. Loving grandfather of Ryan (Toni) Gleason, Amanda (Scott) Drake and Justin (Jen) Gleason. Great grandfather of 7. Preceded in death by his brothers Robert (Marian) Gleason and Edgar Gleason and his sisters Frances Gleason and Mary (Ed) Scheidt., brother in law Charles Lipps and Bill Stath. Survived by Brother/Sister in-laws, Janice Lipps, Frank and Kitty Stath and many nieces and nephews. John passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the age of 93. John was the son of Sophie and John Gleason. John grew up on Polte Street in Fairmont. He joined the Navy and served in both WWII and the Korean war. He was a gunner on the USS Columbus. When he returned home, he became a licensed plumber and retired from the local plumber's union. He married Elaine in 1956 and they were married for 62 years.
