Joan E. Bova, 96, of Cincinnati, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026.Born March 31, 1929 in Cincinnati, Joan was the heart of her family and always had a story to tell. She graduated from St. Ursala Academy and dedicated her life to nurturing others, as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.She married her beloved husband, the late Joseph M. Bova Sr. on September 14, 1950 and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family traditions. Her hands were rarely still, whether she was tending to her yard, making her famous spaghetti dinner or playing cards. Joan was known for her unwavering strength, and always ready to talk about her children and grandchildren. Her pride and joy were her family. She was the loving mother of the late Joseph M. Bova Jr. (Nancy), Cheryl Boone (Fred), Robert Bova (Melissa) and John Bova (Michelle). Devoted grandmother of Roger Bova (Darcy), Alec Bova, Tony Boone (Anita), Brian Bova(Chelsea), Katie Fieglein (Denny), Michael Bova (Alicia), Kevin Bova (Courtney), Lauren Jenkins(David), Brad Bova and Chad Bova (Sarah), Also survived by great grandchildren, Rio and Charley Bova, Jace and Caiden Boone, Taylor Heffron, Ari, Denny, Mary and Eric Fieglein, MaKenzie and Mason Bova, Brooke, Gracen and Violet Bova, Theo Bova and Arlo Jenkins and great great grandchildren C.J. Heffron. A celebration of her life will be held at Frederick funeral home, located at 2553 Banning Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45247 on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 8:30AM -10:00AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. James Church, 3565 Hubble Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45247. Friends and family are warmly invited to gather together to pay their respects, share stories, and celebrate a life so richly lived. Her legacy of love, generosity, and finding joy in simple things will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
