Jeanne Knape Nascimento passed away on July 31, 2024 at the age of ninety-three
surrounded by loved ones. She was born on January 20th,1931 to John and Elizabeth Knape in Morecambe, England. Jeanne worked as a midwife in London, England for some time before applying for an international nursing program in America. She wanted to see the world that dwelled beyond the shores of the United Kingdom. Jeanne arrived in the United States, by ship, on the Queen Mary at a docking port in New York City. From there, she traveled by train toCincinnati, OH to begin a position as an R.N. in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital. It was through her position at the hospital that Jeanne would later meet the love of her life, Dr. Carmosino Nascimento. They were later married and had two children.

Jeanne lived a vibrantly human life during which she lived in four countries, traveled well,
and witnessed the most prolific moments in the recent history of our world. She was an
adventurous, quick-witted, and fiercely independent woman with a selfless heart. Jeanne's life was characterized by a lot of things, but her favorite adventure was caring for the family she built with her husband in Cincinnati, Ohio. She showed her love for her husband, children and grandchildren daily through acts of service. She set an example on how to live for all those who knew her with her kind and caring spirit.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Carmosino Nascimento, and her
eldest son, Christopher Nascimento (Wendy). She is survived by her youngest son, Anthony (Tracie), and daughter-in-law, Wendy. She is also survived by her grandchildren: David, Andrew (Kelly), Christina (Devon), Briana Hilgeman, Zachary, Anna (Corrie), Tiffany, Devin, Eric, Abigail, six great-grandchildren and her sister: Joie Wright.
A celebration of life will be held on August 9th at St. Therese Little Flower Parish. The visitation will last from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with mass to immediately follow. Donations can be made in honor of Jeanne's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
