In loving memory of Janet Anna McCarthy, the beloved wife of the late Eugene McCarthy. Devoted mother Steven McCarthy and Christopher (Annemarie) McCarthy. Loving grandmother of Andrew (Allyson) McCarthy, Patrick McCarthy, Kathleen McCarthy, and Sean McCarthy and a loving great-grandmother to Elaina McCarthy. Dear sister of Jean (late John) Wolf, and the late Marion (late Edward) Morris. Janet passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024, at the age of 99. Janet's journey in this world was marked by her unwavering work ethic and selflessness. Janet spent a large portion of her career in the purchasing department at the Andrew Jergens Company. As a wife and, later, a widow and single mother, she raised her two sons, putting each son through Catholic high school and engineering college. While raising her two sons, Janet served as a paraprofessional in the Northwest Local School District at Pleasant Run and Welch Elementary Schools.  Janet also dedicated 25 years of her life to volunteering at the Mercy Hospital Mount Airy. A visitation to honor and celebrate Janet's life will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Rd., on Tuesday October 22, 2024, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. A mass of Christian burial will follow at St. James Church, 3565 Hubble Rd., on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 10:30 am. Special condolences may be expressed at www.frederickfh.com
