In loving memory of James W. Downing, affectionately known as Jim, who was born in Cincinnati, OH, on August 21, 1959, and peacefully passed away on February 13, 2026, at the age of 66. Jim was the cherished son of the late Paul Downing Sr. and late Anna (nee Cropper) Downing. He was a loving and humorous man whose presence will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Jim will forever be remembered for the passion and love he had for his family. He was a devoted father of Ben (Ashley) Downing, Amanda (Eric) Fudge, Brandon (Andrea) Downing, and Shannon (Brandon) Courtey. He was a proud grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love and joy through his grandchildren: Christopher, Ella, Carlee, Bexley, Alexa, Lydia, Eliza, Louisa, Lincoln, Larkin, Olivia, Elijah, and Luna. He was a dear brother of Kathy (Jim) Frede, Paul Jr. (Cheryl) Downing, and their baby brother Christopher Eric who passed shortly after birth. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Jim will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family, and his memory will live on through stories filled with love and laughter.

Jim enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, particularly his family trips to Myrtle Beach, where the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun brought him peace and joy. A devoted fan, he passionately supported the Cincinnati Bengals, reveling in the camaraderie of game day. He had a unique gift for bringing comfort to those around him, leaving everyone feeling as if they had known him for a lifetime. His genuine compassion for others and his willingness to lend a helping hand were hallmarks of his character.

In honor of Jim's life, a memorial visitation will be held at White Oak Christian Church, located at 3675 Blue Rock Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45247, on March 4, 2026 from 4:00 PM until the time of the memorial service at 5:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather and share their memories, stories, and love for Jim during this time of reflection and remembrance.
