It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gregory Robert Male, born on April 19, 1950, to the late Robert J. and Janet (nee Zapf) Male in Cincinnati, Ohio, who departed this life on December 24, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Greg was a beloved husband, devoted father, loving papa, a dedicated professional, and a cherished member of his community. He lived his life in Cincinnati, where he nurtured his passions and cultivated lasting relationships.

Greg pursued knowledge avidly, earning a bachelor's degree in history with a minor in Medieval Studies from Xavier University, followed by a Juris Doctorate from Salmon P. Chase Law School. He dedicated his career to retirement planning with Schneider, Male and Strakowski Co., where he retired as partner and made a profound impact on those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

In addition to his successful career, Greg was a man of varied interests and deep convictions. An avid reader with a keen interest in history, Greg also took great pleasure in the art of calligraphy and illuminated manuscripts. His passion for culture was matched only by his commitment to his Catholic faith, demonstrated through 52 years as a devoted member of St. Ignatius Church, where he actively participated in numerous parish activities. He was also a respected member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.

Greg took great pride in his Irish heritage and was an active member and former historian of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) St. Patrick Division. Where he was involved in activities like the annual "stealing" of the statue of St. Patrick and the ensuing Cincinnati St. Patrick's Day parade. Greg was honored with the 2013 Kevin Barry Award for his service to the AOH and cherished celebrating Irish traditions and history. Each event was made brighter by his enthusiasm and generosity. Finally, Greg was treasurer and secretary of the board for HOPE: Holy Land Outreach Promoting Education, an organization supporting the Latin Patriarchate Schools in the Holy Land, and a friend to Palestine.

Greg is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years to Cindy (nee Peters) Male. Devoted father of Kevin (Gena Hall) Male, TJ (Maria Aielli) Male, Brendan (Hannah Girman) Male, Jon (Elisa Simmons) Male and the late Christina Male. Loving Papa of Eleanor, Kieran, June, Walter and Callum. Dear brother-in-law of Diane (Steve) Ahlers, Mary Beth Orr S.C., and late Jim (Sue) Peters. Also, survived by nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish the memories they created together, as well as the countless lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey. His warmth, kindness, and intellect touched the lives of many, carving a space in their hearts that will forever remain.

Visitation for Greg will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Rd., on Wednesday (Jan. 1) from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ignatius Church, 5222 North Bend Rd., on Thursday (Jan. 2) at 11:30 a.m. with ceremonies planned to celebrate his life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HOPE: Holy Land Outreach Promoting Education .
