Gery N. Homan

It is with a mix of sadness and celebration that we announce the passing of Gery N. Homan, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Gery, age 76, departed this world peacefully on April 28, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Born on March 6, 1950, in Cincinnati, Gery dedicated much of his life to the newspaper industry, making a significant impact as a valued member of the Cincinnati Enquirer. He was known for his warmth, kindness, and generosity-always the first to lend a hand and the last to seek recognition for his efforts.

Gery was a devoted husband, sharing 42 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Geraldine "Gerri" Meiners. He took immense pride in his role as a father to Stacy (Sean) Mangan and Mimi (Chris) Duffy, and as "Special PaPa" to, Jennifer, Noah, and Addilyn.

He is also remembered fondly as a dear brother to Sheila Lowry and Tina Reed, and he joins his late sister, Gale Greene, in eternal rest. Gery will be deeply missed by his many loving family members and friends who were touched by his infectious laughter and enchanting stories.

An avid fisherman and a passionate volunteer, Gery found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether he was casting a line, playing cards, or sharing tales that brought smiles and laughter to those around him. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people and leave a lasting impression on their lives.

In honor of Gery's life and legacy, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, 7130 Harrison Ave. on Tuesday (May 5) at 10:15am.
