It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gary William Schrott, who left this world on Thursday, July 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 27, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late William and late Mary (nee Moning) Schrott. Gary lived a life rich in simple joys and deep connections, leaving an enduring legacy of kindness and warmth.

He was a dedicated family man, lovingly remembered as the devoted husband to the late Lois J. Schrott (nee Weingartner), who departed just nine days prior. Together, they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Gary is survived by his children, Eric Schrott and Emily (Jeff Brennan) Schrott, who shared their father's passion for family and life's simple pleasures. His heart shone even brighter as a grandfather to Cora Jean Brennan, who brought him immense joy.

Gary is also survived by his dear siblings: Steve (Lynne) Schrott, Bill Schrott, Pat (John) Hennard and Lois (Robert) Morgan. Together, they have shared a tapestry of memories, laughter, and support throughout their lives.

A man of simple pleasures, Gary found joy in attending car shows and casting his line into tranquil waters while fishing. Yet, it was in the company of family that he truly thrived, creating lasting memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.

In celebration of his life and legacy, a visitation at Frederick Funeral Home will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 9:00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Church in White Oak at 10:30 a.m.

As we gather to remember Gary, let us reflect on the beautiful moments shared, celebrate the love he fostered, and carry forward the warmth he brought to our lives. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
