It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Fred P. Knapp Jr. A loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, great grandfather and a dear brother.  Fred was the 3rd son born to the late Frederick P. and Viola (nee Menchen) Knapp on December 14, 1935. He peacefully left this world on Friday, October 18, 2024 at the age of eighty-eight.

Fred was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Mary Lynne Knapp (nee Waller). He is survived by his precious daughters, Kimberly K. (David) Bell and Lisa L. Knapp. His darling granddaughter Marisa R. (Justin) Rigsby and his 2 greatest gifts, his great grandchildren Oliver Reed and Annabelle Catherine Rigsby. Known as Pawpaw by his family, Fred's favorite question asked from Oliver and Annabelle was, "Pawpaw, do you want a doughnut?"

Fred will be remembered by his family as a man who was a very quiet individual. He was a hardworking gentle soul whose words of wisdom were filled with kindness and grace. Throughout his days, Fred possessed a gracious demeanor, often replying with a warm "fine" when asked how he was. This simple yet endearing response reflected his optimistic outlook and contentment with life's moments. His dry wit, however, often caught others by surprise, as he had a knack for delivering clever observations with a straight face, leaving those around him smiling in retrospect.

Fred enjoyed spending time in his yard, on the golf course, tinkering on a car with his brother, building his bride's dream home, Indy Car Racing. Just to name a few. Instruction manuals, according to Fred, were a waste of paper and ink.

A celebration of Fred's life will take place through private services. At his request, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati in his honor.
