With heavy hearts and grateful spirits, we announce the passing of Elizabeth "Betty" L. Scholle, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us on November 4, 2026, just days shy of her 95th birthday. Born in Piqua, Ohio, on November 10, 1931, to the late John J. and late Saloma A. (nee Kaiser) Thompson. Betty's life was a tapestry of love woven with kindness, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family.

Betty was the beloved wife of the late Francis "Frank" H. Scholle, sharing a lifetime of love and memories together. She took great pride in her role as a devoted mother to Kevin (late Kimberly) Scholle, Mary Elizabeth "Libby" (Fremont "Monty") Knittle, and her late sons, Christopher and Matthew Scholle. Betty's legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, Nick (Ashley), Drew (Megan), Amanda (Brian), Heather (Nate), Matt, Patrick, Emmy, and Katie, along with her cherished great-grandchildren: Anderson, Sutton, Nora, Carter, Kaylee, Waylon and Mercer-each a testament to her life's abundance. Betty also shared a special bond with her dear sister Jackie Jenkins, and her late brother Bill Thompson and late sister Mary Jane Lampe.

Betty's life was rich with love, faith, and community. For 65 years, she was a devoted member of St. James Church and she contributed her time to the Knights of Columbus Lady's Auxiliary and fostered a deep sense of joy within her community. An avid bridge player and music lover, Betty filled her home with warm laughter, especially during the holidays when she delighted in cooking for her family and friends.

As a testament to her selflessness, Betty chose to donate her body to science, embracing the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of research and education.

Betty Scholle will be deeply missed and forever cherished. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
