In loving memory of Elaine Marie Tonnis, who was born January 21, 1960 to her parents the late George and late Helen Tonnis in Cincinnati Ohio. She was a cherished mother, devoted sister, and beloved member of the community, who passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024, at the age of 64. Elaine's selfless nature and unwavering love shone throughout her life, as she dedicated herself to caring for her daughter, Megan Mardis, and supporting her sisters, JoAnn (Mark) Lozier and Barbara (Mike) Kaiser, and their families, Keri (Josh Emmons) Lozier, Ryan Kaiser, Ashley (Kenny) Elig, the late Scott Kaiser, Olivia, and Annaliese. Elaine will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her family, and her memory will live on through stories filled with love and laughter.

After graduating with a high school diploma, Elaine dedicated many years of her life to her career as a Loan Delivery Analyst at Fifth Third Bank, where she worked diligently and demonstrated unwavering commitment and great precision, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Her work ethic was unparalleled, reflecting her strong sense of responsibility and integrity. Despite her busy schedule, she never faltered in her commitment to her family and friends. Her warm smile and compassionate nature left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Elaine's faith in God and her family never wavered, as they were the foundation of her life, providing her with strength and comfort during difficult times. She found solace in her faith, and her unwavering dedication to her family and God never ceased to inspire those around her. Leading her to be a pillar of strength and kindness to all. Her love for her family was evident in the moments shared watching games of the Cincinnati Reds and the Pittsburgh Steelers, and indulging in her favorite treat, mint chocolate chip ice cream. Elaine's kindness knew no bounds, always putting others before herself and offering a listening ear or a helping hand whenever needed.

Outside of family, Elaine enjoyed visiting the local zoo, especially delighting in the graceful giraffes, and lost herself in the pages of a good book. She shared this love for reading with her daughter, bonding over shared stories and attending book signings together to meet their favorite authors. Their shared love for novels brought them closer together, creating cherished memories that will be held dear for years to come.

Elaine's memory will forever be cherished by her daughter, sister, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends as they hold onto the countless moments of joy and love she brought into their lives. A funeral service to celebrate Elaine's life will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 2501 Riverside Drive on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 10:00 am, This service will be a celebration of Elaine's life, highlighting her deep love for her family, her faith, and the simple joys that brought light to her eyes. May she rest in peace, knowing she was cherished by all who knew her.
