In loving memory of Edward J. Dowling Jr., who was born on January 4, 1953, and was the cherished son of the late Edward J. Dowling Sr. and Mary (nee White) Dowling. Edward peacefully passed away on July 18, 2026, at the age of 73, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Ed was not only a caring nephew to his aunt Sr. Pat Dowling RSM, but he also held a special bond with his cousins, Patty (Steve) Hessling, Jane Ann (Keith) Hutchens, Ryan Hessling, Ashley (Jake) Carson, Jake Hessling, Maria Hessling, Dominic Carson, Lexi Carson, and Scarlett Carson. He also held a special place in the hearts of his wide circle of extended family. Additionally, Ed forged many lasting friendships, becoming a source of joy and support to those around him. His vibrant spirit and ability to bring laughter into any room will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family and friends, and his legacy will live on through the stories shared in remembrance.

A devout Catholic, Ed found solace in his faith, which guided him throughout his life. He delighted in the simple pleasures of game nights with friends, working out, immersing himself in books, and exploring the vast realms of history. Yet, above all, it was his family and the cherished moments spent in the company of friends and his beloved cats that brought him the greatest joy. Ed's humor and bright spirit will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In honor of Ed's remarkable life, a visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, located at 2553 Banning Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45239, on July 28, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. James Church, located at 3565 Hubble Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45247, at 10:30 AM. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in prayer and reflection, sharing stories and laughter that defined Ed's life. Together, we will celebrate a life filled with love, kindness, and enduring memories.
