In loving memory of Donna S. Gilley, who was born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania on August 7, 1949, and was the cherished daughter of the late Paul and Rachel Spangler. Donna passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, at the age of 77 surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and creativity that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched.

Donna devoted her life to nurturing her family. She was a proud homemaker, providing a warm and loving environment for her daughters, Linda (Matt) Maple and Laura (Gilbert) Ramirez. As a grandmother, she was a source of joy and inspiration for her grandchildren: Zacharias Ramirez, Cassie Maple, Alexandra Maple, Leonardo Ramirez, and Cordelia Maple. In addition to her immediate family, Donna was a beloved sister to Christian (Bee) Spangler, Karen (Carlos) Mallari, Leah (Charles) McGarry, Paula Spangler, and the late Kenneth Spangler and Sharon Irene Spangler. Her love extended to her nieces and nephews, who held a special place in her heart and her legacy will continue to live on through the stories shared by family and friends.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Donna served as a Stenographer, achieving the rank of SP4 exemplifying dedication and service. Later in her career, she became a Correctional Officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. She also documented her adventures in a book that reflected her unique experiences and insights.

An exceptionally talented women, Donna found joy in writing and published many heartfelt poems. Her creativity blossomed in her crafting pursuits, as she delighted in cross-stitching gifts and crocheting personalized blankets that were cherished by her family and friends. Her love for gardening was evident in her vibrant honeysuckle, bountiful vegetables, and radiant rose bushes. Yet, it was her unwavering support for her family that defined her spirit.

In honor of Donna's remarkable life, a memorial service will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45239 on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM. We invite all who knew and loved Donna to come together to share in the heartfelt stories that celebrate her life.
