It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dolores Mirizzi, a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, who left this world on April 13, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on May 10, 1935, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was a cherished daughter of the late Raymond and Rosamond Burk, and was a lifelong resident of the city she loved where she exemplified grace and strength in everything she did.

Dolores' journey began as a telephone operator with Cincinnati Bell, where her friendly voice and kind demeanor touched many. Dolores also shared her warmth and welcoming nature as a receptionist at McAlpins and Providence Hospital, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to cross her path. She later transitioned into a devout homemaker, embracing her role with joy as she raised her beloved family.

Dolores was the beloved wife of the late Samuel Mirizzi for 64 years where they created a loving and nurturing home as she was a dedicated mother of John (Lois) Mirizzi, the late Raymond (Jackie) Mirizzi, the late Rose (late Richard) Streithorst, James Mirizzi, and Joseph (Carrie) Mirizzi. Her family was her pride and joy, and she leaves a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Johnny (Sarah), Michael (Lisa), Matthew (Brett), Josh (Eric), Tim (Megan), Dan, Steven (Tiffany), Sam, Tony (Brittany), and Andrew. She also lovingly watched over her great-grandchildren, including Maggie, Mason, Ryan, Hannah, Hailey, Nate, Jackson, Mackenzie, Keegan, Mia and Luca. Dolores was also a beloved sister to her late sister, Carolyn Barlow, and she will be deeply missed by those who knew her gentle spirit and unwavering love.

A true adventurer at heart, Dolores filled her summers with camping adventures with her children, exploring the beauty of Florida and making precious memories. Every October, the Mirizzi family would gather in Gatlinburg, where laughter and love echoed through the mountains. Dolores also nurtured her beautiful summer gardens, where she found joy and solace. Known for her love of reading, her ever-present word puzzle book was a testament to her inquisitive spirit.

A visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Rd. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at St. Ann Church, 2900 W Galbraith Rd. at 10:30 AM.
