Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard L. Ingle, Sr. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on December 21, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Clyde Ingle and the late Ruth (nee Thielen) Meyer. Richard was a cherished husband, devoted father, loving grandfather, and proud great-grandfather, whose legacy of kindness, laughter, and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Dick was the beloved husband of Virginia "Ginny" (nee Baier) Ingle for 64 remarkable years. He was a loving father to Sue (Don) Zapf, Rick (Kelly) Ingle, and Steve (Terri) Ingle. His role as a grandfather was one he embraced with endless affection, supporting and nurturing his grandchildren: Hannah (David) Boehnlein, Nicole Ingle, Addison (Kelsey) Ingle, Shawn Ingle, Hayden Ingle, Grace Ingle, Michael Ingle, Kel Ingle, Isabel Ingle, Tyler (Lauren) Ingle, Anna Ingle, William Ingle, Jesi Ingle, Elijah Ingle, Maya Ingle, Beau Ingle, Brooke (Matt) Behne, Ben (Anna) Ingle, Bryan Ingle and Brody (Hope) Ingle. Below them, he found immense joy in his great-grandchildren: Ellie, Tess, Blake, Theodora, Adrian, Beverly, Bentlee, Matthew, Patrick, Thomas, Stevie Lynn, Henry, Jack, Madi, Sam and J.P. He will also be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law, Ken Baier, and his wife, Kathy, who cherish the memories shared with Dick throughout the years.

Dick's legacy extends beyond his family. For over 60 years, he dedicated his time and passion to 4-H and the Hamilton County Fair, serving as an advisor and manager, shaping the lives of countless youth. He found great joy in farming, baling hay, and raising sheep. A true lover of life, he was known as the ultimate practical joker, sharing laughter and joy wherever he went. His greatest happiness came from coaching sports teams for his children and cheering on his grandchildren in their abundance of activities. The moments spent with his precious great-grandchildren brought him unparalleled joy and fulfillment. He was preceded in death by his dear brothers, Jay Meyer and Paul Meyer.

Join us in celebrating Dick's life at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (Dry Ridge), 5361 Dry Ridge Rd., on Thursday, October 22, 2026 from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. As we gather to reflect on his life and the mark he left on all of us, we invite you to bring your memories and stories to share.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dick's honor to the Hospice of Cincinnati or the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, reflecting his compassionate spirit and commitment to helping others.

Dick will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the love he shared, the laughter he spread, and the invaluable impact he made on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
