Dianne Lee Schaefer (nee Bauer), beloved wife of Steven E. Schaefer. Devoted mother of Jeff (Holly) Schaefer, Maureen (Jamie Clarkson) Schaefer and Jeanne (Mark) Stephens. Loving grandmother of Helene Schaefer, Cole Schaefer, Grant Schaefer, Bryce Clarkson, Lane Clarkson, Carolyn Stephens, Charlie Stephens and Simon Stephens. Caring daughter of the late LeRoy and late Margaret (nee Stoehr) Bauer. Dear sister of Ken (Kathy) Bauer, Phil (Jan) Bauer, Chris (Ann) Bauer, Allen (Bridget) Bauer, Nancy (Mark) Schuster, Roy (Mary Ann) Bauer, Dan (Mary Beth) Bauer, Jerry Bauer, Joe (Laura) Bauer and late Jeanette (Mitch) Grueninger.

Dianne was always there for her family, ready to babysit her grandchildren, cheer for them at recitals and sporting events, take them to the zoo, and host the family for holidays and simple get togethers. She loved travel and took many trips to various parts of Europe and the Caribbean with her husband, Steve. For adventures closer to home, they traveled in their RV, seeking out beautiful landscapes and historical places. Dianne and Steve were excellent dancers and would twirl the dance floor anywhere swing or jitterbug music could be heard. Dianne was an avid walker, she enjoyed yoga and aerobics classes at the Y and Colerain Senior Center.

Dianne volunteered at the St George Food Pantry and as a reading tutor at Oyler School. She sang for many years in the St. James Church Choir.

Dianne worked for eight years at the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. Before that, she was the secretary for Steven Schaefer Associates (now called Schaefer), the structural engineering and consulting firm which her husband founded.

Dianne graduated from Our Lady of the Angels with the Class of '65 and was involved with their 50th reunion. She was very happy to rekindle friendships with her fellow Angels.

She filled her life with dancing, and travel, and love for family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Dianne passed away peacefully on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the age of 76. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Church - White Oak, 3565 Hubble Road, on Thursday (July 20) at 10:30am. Following the Mass of Christian Burial a celebration of Dianne life will take place at Willow Event Center, 7881 Colerain Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. George Interfaith Food Pantry , 328 West McMillan St. Cincinnati, Ohio 45219 or Stand Up to Cancer or Hospice of Cincinnati .
