With heavy hearts and gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Daniel Poettker, beloved husband, father, and cherished PaPaw. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on August 17, 1955 to the late Richard and late Lois (nee Kabbes) Poettker, Danny inspired all who had the fortune of crossing his path. He left us peacefully on May 12, 2025, at home with his wife by his side.

Danny is survived by his soulmate, Colleen (nee Hanrahan) Poettker, they were high school sweethearts that parted ways in 1973 and were destined to find their way back together in 1998, married on Siesta Key Beach in 2001 and since made a home filled with laughter, love and cherished memories. He was a devoted father to Nicholas (Brigitte) Poettker and a loving stepfather to Julie (Tom) Grills, Jonny (Paige) Deters, Kelly (Steve) Forbeck, Brad Deters, and the late Mandy (Michael) McCarty.  He will also be missed by his grandchildren who fondly called him PaPaw-Greyson &  Cole Poettker,  Emma, Evan & Andersen Deters, Nora & Aubrey McCarty, Kori & Kenzi Grills, Logan & Dakota Deters, who filled his heart with joy. Danny was also survived by his brother, Jay (Dawn) Poettker, and his late sister, Cyndi (late Jeff) Reiter.

Danny's passion for life was matched only by his love for family and friends. An avid golfer, he proudly claimed the title of Club Champion three times at Miami Whitewater. His fondest moments on the course were shared with his son, Nick, as they created lasting memories under the sun. Sundays found him whipping up breakfast and the Grandkids still brag that no one makes pancakes as good as PaPaw. He always made extra bacon for their dog Maggie.

Family traditions were sacred to Danny, especially those cherished gatherings on Thanksgiving and Christmas with family.  He celebrated each grandchild's milestones, cheering them on at every event with pride in his heart. Danny also found joy in rooting for his beloved Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds, reflecting his deep connection to his hometown. His undeniable love for the beach blossomed during many vacations spent with his wife at Fort Myers Beach, where he cherished sun-soaked days, favorite restaurants and gorgeous sunsets.

Danny's dedication extended beyond his family; he was a valued employee at Allgeier and Son for 25 years where he forged strong connections with his colleagues.

In celebration of Danny's life, we will gather to honor him with a memorial gathering on Monday (May 19) from 4:00 PM until time or memorial service at 7:00 PM, that will reflect the love and joy he brought to our lives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or St. Jude Children Research Hospital .

We invite his friends and family to remember him not with sorrow but with the warmth of countless shared moments, from sunny golf courses to festive family dinners.

As we say goodbye, let us carry Danny's spirit of love, his smile, laughter, and camaraderie in our hearts forever.
