In loving memory of Dale William Hanson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, stepbrother, uncle and godfather who left this world peacefully on January 29, 2026, at the age of 74 surrounded by his family. Born in Cincinnati, OH, on October 20, 1951, Dale was the son of the late Charles and Evelyn Hanson. Dale will be remembered for his kindness, humility and sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew him.

Dale was the devoted husband of Mary Hanson for 37 years, and loving father to Chris (Kelleen) Hanson. He was especially proud to be a grandfather to 16-month-old Evelyn Faye Hanson, who brought him immense joy and fulfillment. He is survived by sisters-in-law Linda Hanson and Judi Knecht, niece and goddaughter Alicia Hanson, stepsiblings Jackie (Bob) Saxer, Mark (Shari) Knecht, Matt (Bev) Knecht and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Charles and Evelyn Hanson, as well as his stepmother Virginia (Knecht) Hanson, stepbrothers Paul and Gordon Knecht, and sister-in-law Donna Knecht.

A proud graduate of Little Flower grade school in Mt. Airy, La Salle High School and Xavier University, Dale earned his bachelor's and later master's degree and had a fulfilling career as a communications professional, notably at Drake Center and Glenmary Home Missioners.

A devout Catholic, Dale was an active parishioner of both St. Vivian and Bellarmine Chapel. His community involvement extended beyond the church as he coached Knothole baseball, was involved in Boy Scouts, and volunteered to help the less fortunate.

In honor of Dale's life, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Bellarmine Chapel, located at 3801 St. Francis Xavier Way, Cincinnati, OH 45207, on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Dale's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Glenmary Home Missioners (PO Box 465618, Cincinnati, Ohio 45246-5618).
