In loving memory of Clara Jane Mackzum, who was born on March 21, 1948, and passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, at the age of 78, surrounded by her loving family. Clara was a vibrant soul, a beacon of warmth, and a friend to many. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will resonate through the hearts of all who knew her.

Clara is now reunited with her beloved husband, Tony Mackzam, with whom she shared 28 beautiful years of love, laughter, and countless fishing adventures. Together, they built a life that inspired those around them, a partnership treasured by all who knew them. As the devoted mother of Ron (Ruby) Sortwell, Kim (Greg) Muse, Debra (Paul) Sortwell, Shannon (Bill) Wirtley, and beloved mother to her late daughter, Trish (Tony) Davidson, Clara's love will forever echo in the hearts of her family. She was also a proud grandmother to Zack, Amber, the late Haven, Landon, Josh, Alex, Isaac, Amanda, Sandy, Sarah, Gary, Sabrina, Erica, Rebecca, Anthony, Heather, and Angel and a cherished great-great grandmother of 31. Her love extended beyond blood, embracing her stepchildren Tony (Sherri) Mackzum Jr., Dave (Erin) Mackzum, Ann (Craig) Bush, along with her step-grandchildren Logan, Brayden, Jack, Henry, Matthew, Taylor, and Pegan. Clara was also preceded in death by her devoted parents, Lewis and Doris Caudill, and siblings: Walter Caudill, Rick (Karen) Caudill, Clyde (Carolyn) Allen, June (Roni) Powers, Estelle (Orville) Grandquest, Jenny Elam, and Nancy Caudill. Clara will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her family, and her memory will live on through stories filled with love and laughter.

Throughout her life, Clara found joy in the simple pleasures; her laughter was infectious, and her spirit for adventure endless. She relished the thrill of trying her luck at casinos and lottery pull tabs and found joy in playing bingo. But it was her passion for the outdoors that truly defined her spirit. Clara loved camping at Winton Woods and fishing at any opportunity, always keeping a chair and fishing pole ready in her car for spontaneous adventures. This love for fishing will live on through her family, and they will continue her legacy with each cast of the line.

In honor of Clara's remarkable life, a visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, located at 2553 Banning Road, Cincinnati, OH 45239, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Private family viewing will start from 9:00 AM - 9:45 AM with a public visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 12:00 PM where family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and reflect on the beautiful moments shared with Clara.
