Claire Rosalie Tenhundfeld (nee Williams), cherished wife, devoted mother, and beloved grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by the love of her family in Cincinnati, Ohio.Born on October 16, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Joseph and late Clare (nee Vonderheide) Williams. A passionate Religious Educator, Claire dedicated much of her life to her faith, playing an active role in many Catholic parishes. She had a unique gift for bringing people into the church, inspiring countless individuals along the way.Claire is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, James Tenhundfeld, and her adoring children: Mary Tenhundfeld, Judy Tenhundfeld, and Jim (Karen) Tenhundfeld. She was a loving grandmother to Joshua Meyer, Nicholas (Sarah) Tenhundfeld, Megan (Ryan) Dockus, and was predeceased by her dear grandson, Jacob Meyer. Claire also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Palmer, Reese, Henry, and Owen, who brought her immense joy. She was a cherished sister to Mary Ellen (the late Bill) Kelley and the late James (the late Betty) Williams and late Joseph Williams, and she is survived by numerous special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.Claire was known for her love of reading and learning, particularly focused on Christian faith. She was a great cook and even better host who loved welcoming a few or many into her home for both impromptu and formal gatherings that were filled with warmth, laughter and love. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose laughter and smiles were the light of her life.In honor of Claire's remarkable life and her profound impact on others, the family will hold a Mass of Christian Burial at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8815 E. Kemper Rd., on Tuesday (September 29), at 10:00 AM. A visitation will be held on Monday (September 28), from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Rd.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Office of Youth Evangelization, Archdiocese of Cincinnati, 100 E. 8th Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202 or to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati, 615 Elsinore Place, Suite 950, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202.
