Carol Lynn McCoy (nee McDowell), beloved wife for 52 years to Dennis McCoy. Devoted mother of Chris (Cara) McCoy and Rob (Melissa) Hughes. Loving grandmother of Cade, Brock and Bryson McCoy and Morgan and the late Riley Hughes. Dear sister of Nancy (Tim) Stezzi and the late David (Peggy) McDowell. Aunt of Tim, Kim, Will and Kathleen. Dear friend of Sonja and Shauna McDowell. Carol passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023 at the age of 76. As a passionate animal lover, Carol also considered her pets to be members of the family. It makes mourning her loss a bit easier knowing she is now reacquainted with her Pandy, Amanda, Molly, Sadie and Mitzy. Carol used her love of animals to give back to the community. Examples include volunteering to provide pet therapy to hospital patients with Molly, caring for feral cats including having dozens neutered and spayed, as well as donating to various animal welfare charities thru out the years. Carol had a passion for the arts and often enjoyed attending plays and musical theatre. She showed her artistic creativity thru being a talented piano player as well as needlepoint and cross stitching. Many of her needlepoint creations were gifted to those she loved. A memorial service will take place at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Road on Saturday (May 13) at 11am. Special condolences may be expressed at frederickfh.com
