Bernard W. Becker Jr., a beloved father, devoted grandfather, loving great grandfather, dedicated public servant, and proud Navy veteran, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the age of 96 surrounded by his caring family. Born on September 30, 1928, to the late Bernard and late Elsie (nee Wickline) Becker, Bernard, affectionately known as Bud, lived a life rich in service and faith, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

A proud member of the United States Navy, Bud's commitment to his country was evident throughout his life. He belonged to esteemed organizations including the AMVETS Post 1988, VFW Post 7340, and Cheviot American Legion Post #425, where he honorably served as finance officer for over 13 years. His steadfast dedication to his fellow veterans reflected his belief in community and camaraderie.

Bud exemplified his deep Catholic faith being a member of St. Ann Church (Groesbeck) while him and Joan were raising their children, then attended St. Lawrence Church while living in Hidden Valley Lake and then at St. James Church (White Oak). A 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and his unyielding devotion to family, friends, and faith remains a testament to the life he cherished.

Bud devoted many years to the vocation of mail carrier with the U.S. Post Office, where he greeted each day with a smile and a dedication to serve his community. Beyond his professional commitment, he made an indelible mark through his volunteer service with the Groesbeck Fire Department and Colerain Fire Department from 1963 to 1983, where he exemplified selflessness and bravery. Those whose lives Bud touched will remember him not only for his work ethic but also for his kindness and warm spirit.

Bud is preceded in death by his wife, Joan "Jenny" (nee DeMaria) Becker. He is survived by his beloved children, Steve (Barb) Becker, Debbie (Bob) Arany, Bernie (Janet) Becker and Mark (Lorri Gabbard) Becker; his devoted grandchildren, Nicholas (Stephanie), Scott (Julie), Jason (Rae) Becker, Kellie (Aaron) Hathaway, Chris (Kimberly) Arany, Randy (Dani), Shawn Becker, Hollie (Robbie) Piotrowski and Bridgette (Erik) Dow; his loving great grandchildren, Michael, Shelby, Carter, Katelyn, Levi, Cameron, Kennedy, Cooper, Allison, Blake, Tyler, Zach, Arabella, Brianna, Cecelia, Dean, Neal and unborn twins, who will carry on his father's legacy of service, compassion, and love. Preceded in death by his brother Robert Becker.

Family and friends are invited to join in honoring Bud's remarkable life. Visitation will be held at Fredrick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Rd., on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of his life will take place at St. James Church, 3565 Hubble Road, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by military burial at St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AmVets Post 1988, 5503 Cheviot Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45247 or St. James School, 6111 Cheviot Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45247.
