Barbara Sue Logan, affectionately known as "Hoogie," passed away on October 10, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 88.
Born in Crittenden, Kentucky, on September 2, 1938, Hoogie was preceded in death by her sisters, Weasy, Jo, Phyllis, and Colleen.
Widowed young by the untimely passing of the love of her life, Gene Logan, Hoogie devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. Her four children were the center of her world: the late Dennis Logan, daughter-in-law Angela Kiraly, Anne (Greg) Fischer, Mary (Ted) Stansbury, and Jenny (Tom) Cox. She loved her family deeply and took immense pride in the lives they built and the families they grew.
Her love only grew with each generation. She was a proud grandmother to Joe (Katie) Fischer, Pat (Amanda) Fischer, David (Christina) Fischer, Branden (Elysa) Fischer, Jeremy Dickston, Beth Stansbury, Caiti (Jordan) Bringman, Matt (Dawn) Cox, Anna Marie (Fernando) Salinas, and Zoe Logan. But it was her great-grandchildren who brought her a particularly special kind of joy: Sam, Charlie, Logan, Maggie, Callen, Ben, Ivan, and Anders Fischer; and Owen, Penelope, and Jack Bringman.
If you knew Hoogie, chances are she made you laugh, gave you a hard time, or both. She had a sharp wit, a big heart, and a way of making even the most ordinary moments memorable. Life was simply more fun with Hoogie around.
Hoogie spent her career as a market researcher at Sive Associates, but her contributions extended well beyond her work. She was always lending a hand, whether to a friend, a neighbor, or one of the ladies in her condo community. A devoted Catholic, she generously gave her time to her church, the cancer foundation, and local schools. Hoogie cared deeply about people and showed it in the way she lived. She valued loyalty, built lasting friendships, and knew how to enjoy herself!
Hoogie never lost her curiosity. She was always asking questions and loved learning something new. Well into adulthood, she took up painting, yoga, and accounting classes. She loved a good game of Scrabble and was quite certain she was unbeatable. And she wasn't shy about letting you know if she didn't approve of a word you played!
Above all, Hoogie loved her family. Some of her happiest memories were made in Hilton Head with her sisters and on big, loud, wonderful family beach vacations. She was happiest in the middle of it all, surrounded by the people she loved, laughing, telling stories, and enjoying every bit of the chaos. Whether you called her Mom, Grandma, GG, or Hoogie, you knew you had someone in your corner.
At Hoogie's table, there was always room for one more. One more laugh, one more dance, one more glass of wine, one more person to love. All were welcome. Just pull up a chair.
